WCRA DY is a year-long leaderboard race of rodeo events worldwide, culminating at the World Championship Junior Rodeo (WCJR). The 2024 World Finals event will have over $200,000 in added money and will take place in Guthrie, OK, at the Lazy E Arena July 23-27. The 2023 event paid out more than $407,000.

Athletes can qualify by nominating their rodeo efforts and earning points for the WCRA DY leaderboard positions using the VRQ (Virtual Rodeo Qualifier). Athletes can nominate their rodeo efforts until Sunday, June 23, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. to nominate and earn points. The top 16 on the leaderboard will qualify for the event with no entry fees.

Open Entry & Fees

Athletes can also enter the event through open entry, competing in the qualifying rounds for a chance to advance to the Semi-finals. New for 2025, the aggregate winners from the open rounds will secure a spot in the Championship Round.

OPEN Entry Age Limits:

    • Junior Division competition – 19-13 years of age (SW must be 15 years of age)
    • Youth Division competition – 15-10 years of age

Open Entry Key Dates:

  • Early Bird Entry: March 17–31 – $100 discounted entry fee per discipline
  • Open and Jr. Ironman Qualifier Sidepot Entry: April 1–July 9
  • Payment Plan Option: April 1–May 1
  • Late Entry: July 9–17 – $50 late fee per discipline

ENTRY FEES: Junior Division $350 per entry // Youth Division $250 per entry // JR Ironman Side Pot $100

    • Seeded athletes that chose to start their competition in the WCJR OPEN Rounds will be required to pay an entry fee. They will not lose their seeded position in the subsequent rounds regardless of their WCJR OPEN Rounds results.
    • EARLY BIRD ENTRIES will be available March 17-31 and will be discounted $100 per discipline. Early Bird Entries are final and not eligible for Turn Out refunds for any reason.  Jr Ironman Side Pot not eligible for the discount.
    • LATE ENTRIES start on July 9 at 12:00 pm CT and will incur an additional $50 fee per discipline.
    • PAYMENT PLAN OPTION: Athletes that enter one or more disciplines between the dates of April 1 – May 1 will be eligible to spread their entry fee payments across 3-4 payments based on the date that they enter within the Payment Plan window.
