All athletes thirteen (13) years of age through nineteen (19) years of age as of July 22, 2025 are eligible to nominate their competitive efforts toward the WCRA Virtual Rodeo Qualifier (VRQ) for Segment DY25 through Sunday, June 22, 2025, at 11:59pm CT to earn VRQ points toward the DY World Championship bonus payout.
Athletes can also enter the event through open entry, competing in the qualifying rounds for a chance to advance to the Semi-finals. New for 2025, the aggregate winners from the open rounds will secure a spot in the Championship Round.
If you won a qualifier series, athletes do not need to pay an entry fee. All QS info HERE
OPEN Entry Age Limits:
– Junior Division competition – 13-19 age (Steer Wrestling and Roughstock must be 15 years of age)
– Youth Division competition – 10-15 years of age
Open Entry Key Dates:

ENTRY FEES: Junior Division $350 per entry / Youth Division $250 per entry / JR Ironman Side Pot $100
– Seeded athletes that choose to start their competition in the WCJR OPEN Rounds will be required to pay an entry fee. They will not lose their seeded position in the subsequent rounds regardless of their WCJR OPEN Rounds results.
-EARLY BIRD ENTRIES will be available March 17-31 and will be discounted $100 per discipline. Early Bird Entries are final and not eligible for Turn Out refunds for any reason. Jr Ironman Side Pot not eligible for the discount.
-LATE ENTRIES start on July 9 at 12:00 pm CT and will incur an additional $50 fee per discipline.
-PAYMENT PLAN OPTION: Athletes that enter one or more disciplines between the dates of April 1 – May 1 will be eligible to spread their entry fee payments across 3-4 payments based on the date that they enter within the Payment Plan window.
– World Champions will be crowned in all disciplines along with All-Around World Champions from both the 19 and under (19U) Junior Leaderboard and the 13-15 Youth Leaderboard. Each World Champion will be awarded a piece of the $56,000 in cash bonuses.
– Athletes must have a minimum of fifteen (15) VRQ points on the DY23 leaderboard to be eligible to earn a World Championship.

The WCJR will also serve as a Jr. Ironman qualifier with the top five advancing to Jr. Ironman Championship held during the CINCH Timed Event Championship in March 2025. The Jr. Ironman Side Pot will have $5,000 added money with the mandatory disciplines: Steer Wrestling, Tie-Down Roping, Team Roping-Header, Team Roping-Heeler (must enter and participate in all four disciplines).
JR. IRONMAN DETAILS
Roughstock athletes must qualify through the leaderboard. All athletes must qualify for the event through the WCRA DY leaderboard. More info HERE
Must be 13 years old to earn leaderboard points. All athletes ten (10) through nineteen (19) years of age as of July 22, 2025, may enter the event through open entry. The event will include two (2) age divisions. See complete and official ground rules for specific details on eligible age requirements. BIRTH CERTIFICATE AND W9 REQUIRED AT TIME OF ENTRY FOR ALL ATHLETES.

Athletes may only enter one (1) age division and must declare at time of entry.
A valid health certificate is required for every horse. All horses six months and older must be accompanied by an official health certificate of state of origin issued by a state, federal or licensed accredited veterinarian, and such certificate must include a veterinarian’s statement that examination was made within the past thirty (30) days and revealed the animal to be free from symptoms of any infectious disease or exposure thereto. A copy of a negative Coggins test, dated within a year of the show date. It is highly recommended that you vaccinate for Equine Influenza Virus and Equine Herpes Virus (Rhinopneumonitis) within 6 months of show date.
